Ferri, Bonnie H -
Bonnie Ferri is the vice provost for Graduate and Postdoctoral Education at Georgia Tech, and a professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). Dr. Ferri previously was the vice provost for Graduate Education and Faculty Development and held associate chair positions in ECE, both for undergraduate and for graduate studies.
She has received many honors and awards including the 2017 IEEE Undergraduate Teaching Award and the 2016 Regent’s Award for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. Ferri was the co-chair of a Georgia Tech campuswide commission on the future of higher education, and she was an invited speaker at a National Academy of Engineering workshop on education. Ferri has also been active with the IEEE Control Systems Society and served two terms on its Board of Governors. She was the program chair for the 1998 American Control Conference and will be the general chair for that conference in 2022.
Ferri received a bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University. After earning these degrees, she worked as an engineer for Honeywell for two years before pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech. Ferri’s research interests include embedded control systems, engineering education, and real-time computing.
Black, James -
James Black is a senior academic professional and serves as the director of student and academic affairs in the Office of Graduate Education. In his role as director, he supports a team that manages student services and success programs for Tech's more than 7,000 on-campus master's and doctoral students. These services and programs include Institute-level orientation and onboarding, graduate student hiring, fellowships administration, and thesis and dissertation processing.
Before joining the Office of Graduate Education, he completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech doing research on a novel droplet levitation technique utilizing a fluid property called thermocapillarity.
Codrington-Poyotte, Jaydale -
As the Assistant Director of Business Operations and Strategic Initiatives within the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Education (GPE), Jaydale Codrington-Poyotte manages personnel support, space and equipment management, budgets and financial planning, project management, and strategic planning. She recently completed a Project Management certification that will help GPE keep on track in pursuing their contributions to the Institute Strategic Plan.
Ebelhar, Marc -
Marc Ebelhar serves as Graduate Student Success Specialist in the Office of Graduate Education at Georgia Tech and is the Instructor of Record for GT6000. Marc has over 20 years of experience as a higher education professional with a primary focus in graduate education, students in transition, LGBTQIA allyship, and university housing. Marc earned a bachelor of arts in economics and political science from Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY, a master of education in higher education and student affairs from the University of South Carolina, and a doctorate in student affairs leadership from the University of Georgia. Outside of work Marc enjoys playing tabletop board games, is a proud supporter of Memphis Grizzlies basketball and Leeds United football, and loves to explore Buford Highway with his partner Christina.
Everett, Mitchell J -
Dr. Mitchell J. Everett is the PhD Program Manager for the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University. He oversees critical aspects of the joint PhD program, including student-advisor matching, admissions, and graduation processes. Additionally, he teaches graduate courses in American Higher Education as an adjunct professor at Georgia Southern University, where he earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership in Spring 2024.
An advocate for diversity in STEM, Mitchell advises the Biomedical Engineering Alliance for Minorities (BEAM) and actively contributes to improving the graduate student experience. He also plays a key role in organizing recruitment events and supporting the department’s participation in national conferences like the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) Annual Meeting.
McCoy, Tammy Michelle -
Tammy M. McCoy, Ph.D., is the Assistant Director for TA Development and Future Faculty Initiatives at the Georgia Tech Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL). She actively supports graduate students and post-docs pursuing college teaching careers through TA training, academic career development, and teaching certification. Dr. McCoy earned a Ph.D. and completed a postdoc in materials science and engineering at Georgia Tech, an M.S. in materials engineering from Auburn University, and a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Mississippi State University. She taught science at Benjamin Banneker High School, was an instructor in Spelman College's Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, and was an adjunct instructor in Georgia Perimeter College's Department of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Engineering. Dr. McCoy’s educational approach is connecting, caring for, cheering, and championing others. She aims to cultivate inclusive and supportive spaces that value, empower, and inspire ALL. Dr. McCoy is also a dedicated member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
Nair-Reichert, Usha C -
Dr. Usha Nair-Reichert is an Associate Professor in the School of Economics at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Her current research interests include (i) trade, foreign direct investment, innovation and banking policies and regulations (ii) firm strategies related to innovation, trade, foreign direct investment, technology licensing and acquisition, and sustainability (iii) innovation ecosystems and (iv) economic development. She has worked on funded projects related to innovation and regional innovation systems in Poland, innovation and efficiency gains in the pulp and paper industry, supply chains, energy, affirmative action, and educational outcomes.
Dr. Nair-Reichert obtained her Ph.D. in Economics from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University specializing in international trade, international business, econometrics and economic development. She joined the faculty at the School of Economics at Georgia Institute of Technology in 1995. She was interim School Chair during the academic year 2011-12 and has served as the Director of the undergraduate and master’s programs in Economics. She is an affiliated faculty at the Supply Chain and Logistics Institute at Georgia Tech and a core faculty member at Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) at Georgia Tech. She is passionate about student mental well-being and is a member of the Advisory Board for Student Well-being at Georgia Tech. She was also the Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Council at the Ivan Allen College at Georgia Tech. She received a Fulbright Specialist’s Award in 2015. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the European Economics and Finance Society and the Executive Director of the Association for Indian Economic and Financial Studies. Prior to her graduate work at Purdue, Dr. Nair-Reichert was employed in the banking sector in India where she has worked in areas related to trade and foreign exchange regulations, imports and exports, joint ventures, technology transfer, and multinational investments.
Dr. Nair-Reichert has served on the Board of Trustees of the Westminster School, the Trinity School and the Georgia Tech Athletics Association Board. She is currently a member of the Board of Advisors of Georgia Tech Europe in France.
Nash, Theresa L -
Theresa Nash joined Georgia Tech in 2022 as Academic Program Manager I in the School of Interactive Computing. In her role, Theresa provides oversight and leadership for 3 different graduate programs; MS-Robotics-Interactive Computing, MS-Human Computer Interaction and PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Machine Learning and Human Centered Computing, all with a home school of Interactive Computing.
Originally from Michigan, Theresa earned her Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and Masters’ from Lesley University in Boston, Massachusetts. After completing her Masters’ degree, Theresa joined Emory University where she served as Associate Director of Academic Programs at Emory’s Rollins School of Public Health. Theresa is also a professional trainer and a mother of two sons.
Nguyen, Baothinh (Alexus) -
Alexus Nguyen is an accomplished administrative professional with extensive experience in project management, event coordination, and executive support. Currently serving as an Administrative Professional III at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Alexus excels in organizing high-profile meetings and events, managing complex schedules, and ensuring seamless operations. With a background in private banking and customer service, Alexus brings a strong skill set in strategic planning, employee coaching, and conflict resolution. Alexus holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Business Economics from Georgia State University and is proficient in both English and Vietnamese.
Ray, Stephanie L -
Stephanie is in her 27th year as Associate Dean of Students. While at Tech, Ray had the opportunity to create key initiatives such as the Women’s Resource Center, the LGBTQIA Resource Center, National Pan-Hellenic Council, and When the Whistle Blows, Tech’s annual remembrance ceremony.
Ms. Ray is a graduate of Western Kentucky University where she majored in speech communication and history. In addition, she earned a master’s degree in student personnel services in higher education from the same institution.
Ray is a keynote speaker and workshop facilitator who speaks on a myriad of areas, including but not limited to diversity, equity & inclusion, leadership, and communication. Stephanie is also a member of Toastmasters International where she earned the designation of Distinguished Toastmaster. While in college, Stephanie was a member of the WKU Speech and Debate Team, and she competed at the national level in several events. Ray loves theatre, and she has directed three productions at Georgia Tech.
Stephanie is the recipient of many honors and recognitions. She served as president of the Georgia College Personnel Association, and she was named Administrator of the Year by the Student Government Association twice and by the Graduate Senate once. Stephanie was the recipient of the GT Staff Leadership Award, and she was recognized by the University System of the Georgia in the same category.
Venapally, Amitej -
Amitej is a second-year PhD student in Biomedical Engineering and a part of the joint MD/PhD program with Emory University. Amitej completed his undergrad at Georgia Tech with a BS in Computer Science and a BS in Biochemistry.
