The Transformative Teaching and Learning (TTL) Initiative was created in response to the ideals in the Institute Strategic Plan:
Provide all students with transformative learning experiences to grow as creative, ethical, globally aware, technologically sophisticated leaders who can define and solve problems to improve the human condition.
Be an innovation leader that defines the future of higher education with new solutions that dramatically improve access, learning effectiveness, and lifelong student success.
The graduate phase of this plan started in May 2023 with a brainstorming session among graduate directors and coordinators on the topics. Main questions address: What is transformative for graduate students? What are the basic needs and aspirations for graduate education?
The main topic and themes that arose from that session guided the efforts of a working group that met December 2023-May 2024.
